The surf zone, infragravity motions and rhythmic beach features : a survey

This survey is concerned with a number of different but interrelated phenomena: the driving of nearshore rip currents by wave breaking (edge wave); the causes and effect of low-frequency, surf beat type motions on the beach; and the effect that these have on the formation of rhythmic beach features.
