Bivalve grazing, nutrient cycling and phytoplankton dynamics in an estuarine ecosystem

This thesis has considered the impact of the suspension feeding bivalve Mytilus edulis on nutrient cycling and phytoplankton in an estuarine ecosystem. Main emphasis has been on the impact of the mussels on the exchange of material between the water column and the benthic system.
